“By prayer and petition…”

This month we had the opportunity to pray for some of the seafarers who faced adversity in their lives. Some came broken, worried about family, health and trials and tribulations. Some had conflicts, children with problems of rebellion and addiction, and other tough situations. We got together and prayed unto the Lord.

"Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus" Philippians 4 : 6-7

They left relieved and hopeful in God that everything will be resolved and in peace, to be able to continue their work. It is heartbreaking to know that some of these seafarers facing adversity will not be reunited with their loved ones for many weeks or months. One cannot fathom the emotional hardship and anxiety that being so far from your family during a time of trials can bring. At Seafarers Ministry of Miami, we are always keeping the seafarers in our prayers long after they leave the port.
