A shady place to relax

Last month, we received a surprise call from one of our top sponsors, Royal Caribbean Group. They were donating multiple large patio umbrellas to the Seafarers Miami Ministry so that we can add some shade to our tables and provide a nice place for seafarers and ship crewmembers to relax outside.

If you have ever been to Miami - and probably even if you have not - you should know that Miami is HOT. We get about 250 - 300 sunny days per year., and when we do get rain and clouds, they generally don’t hang around too long!!

There is a nice breeze when you are near the water, so sitting under the shade from the umbrellas really provides a pleasant atmosphere and allows you to take in the great outdoors, the sea breeze, and the beautiful views of Port Miami, the cruise ships, and the beautiful Miami skyline. The seafarers, crew members, port workers and all of our visitors are raving about the new look of our patio. They are sitting outside, enjoying a nice outdoor meal, conversation and calls to their family and love
